How has it been over a month since our Family Funday!
Where do we begin. We had decided as soon as we set up the foundation that we wanted to hold and event in the summer, to help spread awareness of the foundation and what we do.
We began organising looking for the perfect venue, as soon as we asked Ryan at The Cross Inn Finstall he was on board and more than accommodating to offer his help throughout the planning process, which was just brilliant and we can't thank him enough.
We decided to hold the event on August bank holiday Sunday so families could enjoy one last event before returning to work and school and what a day we had. The sun was shining, my gosh was it hot, laughter and fun all around.
Throughout the day there was lots going on and something for everyone. There was a bouncy castle, face painting and lots of games for the kids and a raffle and tombola for the adults. We also had lots of yummy food, from burgers and hot dogs thanks to Momma J’s Catering and homemade cakes and sweet pots made by family and friends.
Plus we had some amazing singers throughout the day who all donated their time, and what can I say they were truly brilliant and kept everyone entertained, so a special thank you to all who performed :)
We really weren't expecting it to be as busy as it was being as we are a new charity and still establishing ourselves and getting ourselves recognised, but so many people turned up and for that we are so grateful and humbled.
Needless to say come the end of the day we were all ready for our beds but we wanted to do one last thing and that was check the donations from all you lovely people and wow wow wow, we couldn't believe it!! In total we raised £1179.70 this was just incredible and is already helping us to help so many families and will also allow us to continue our work and develop as a foundation.
We really hope that all who attended enjoyed the day and we look forward to see you all next year!
