What you as parents are going through is the hardest thing that you will ever experience, with no rule book and how the process of lossing a child should go. Giving birth to your baby

Waiting to give birth to your baby who has died is a traumatic and an unexcepted, the booklet provide can provided you with information in the hope it can help with making the difficult decisions ahead.

Saying goodbye to your baby

Why did my baby die?

Some parents are keen to find out why their baby died whilst others may be unsure. Sometimes a coroner will request a post-mortem where the parents have no choice. Whilst parents may also ask for a post-mortem to be carried out if a coroner’s request hasn’t been put in. The booklet below discusses the post-mortem process, what is a post-mortem, how long it should take, what to expect, ETC. 

Returning to work

Returning to work after the death of you baby can be a difficult experience, the booklet provided by sands includes information on rights, benefits, advice on speaking to colleagues and ways to manage emotions.

Grandparents

Grandparents and the wider family may get forgetton when a child passes away as everyone focuses on the parents. However, we here at The Rose Peters Foundation recognised that all members of the family will be grieving and are effected by such a traumatic event. When a grandchild dies

No grandparent expect their grandchild to die and the process of grieve for grandparents can be complex as they are not only grieving for the loss of their grandchild but also for their child. Sands have created an information booklet for grandparents who have experinced a loss offering infomation and support on different situations that may arise after the death of a grandchild. 

How to help our children

Not alone are you as grandparents having to cope with your own grief, you have to find the strength to support children. The Compassionate Friends have created an information booklet for grandparents, with information on how to support your child and how to tackle family occasions.
